[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Rehmat Ali Hasnie has been named President of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) by the Federal Cabinet.

According to news, the Cabinet approved a summary for Hasnie’s nomination as President/CEO of NBP for three years on the advice of the Ministry of Finance.

It is worth noting that Hasnie has been serving as the interim president of the NBP since May 2022, and he was apparently appointed to this prominent position on the advice of the Pakistan People’s Party.

Hasnie began his career with Taurus Securities Limited in 1995. In January 2010, he left Pak Iran Investment Company Limited to join NBP as SVP. He recently lobbied for the Managing Director of Pak China Investment Company.

He joined NBP as Senior Vice President on January 25, 2010, and was promoted to Executive Vice President three years later.

According to sources, he has been embroiled in controversy recently because his name surfaced in the HASCOL incident, and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) were also conducting investigations into several charges levelled against several officials, including Hasnie.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
