Veteran Pakistani actress Azra Mansoor has praised fellow actress Mawra Hocane for prioritizing her prayers during shooting sessions.
In a recent interview, Azra Mansoor addressed misconceptions about artists in the showbiz industry, stating that people often assume actors are distant from their faith due to their involvement in films and dramas. “This is not the case,” she clarified.
“I am not saying all artists are religious, but there are many in our industry who are very close to their faith,” Mansoor said.

She shared her experience working with Mawra Hocane and Mohib Mirza on the drama serial ‘Jafa,’ noting that both actors took time to pray during shoots.
Mansoor expressed her admiration for Hocane, saying, “I was very happy to see Mawra Hocane because if it was time for prayer during the shoot, she would perform her prayers first and then return to record her scene.”
She also mentioned her own experience, stating, “I work during Ramazan and keep my fasts, but inappropriate words are often used for actors.”
Azra Mansoor emphasized, “We artists are also human beings, and humans are prone to mistakes. We can make errors too.”
