Arid University expels students over harassment allegations

The vice chancellor of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University has expelled three students from the Food and Science Technology department following an investigation into sexual harassment allegations involving two students at the university’s government hostel.

This decision follows the recommendations of the university’s Discipline Committee, which issued an official notification on the matter. The committee concluded its investigation and recommended expulsion, leading to the cancellation of the students’ degrees, enrollments, and results.

The expelled students, Muneeb Ahmed, Muhammad Aneeb Ayaz, and Saad Wahab, were in their final semester of the Food Science and Technology Department. They have been arrested by the Sadiqabad police, and a case has already been registered against them.

The University Inquiry Committee has granted the expelled students the right to appeal the decision. University sources noted that the three students were members of a political party on campus.
