[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Apple’s latest generation of iPhones brought satellite messaging into the limelight, allowing users to send emergency SOS alerts in situations where they have no access to WiFi or cellular connections.

Following suit, Samsung is also preparing to unveil its own satellite messaging solution. Meanwhile, Google has its plans to offer satellite SMS support for all phones running Android 14, contingent on having compatible hardware. Initially, the feature will be made available to Samsung and Pixel phones, with a subsequent rollout to other Android devices.

While the exact extent of Android 14’s satellite messaging capabilities remains uncertain, it’s worth noting that not all Android phone manufacturers may adopt this feature, despite running the latest Android version.

The official release of Android 14 is expected to coincide with the launch of Google’s next-gen Pixel phones in October this year. Additionally, there are rumors that the Google Pixel 8 phones will be equipped with the company’s custom Tensor G3 chipset, supplied by TSMC instead of Samsung.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
