Islamabad Traffic Police Announce Advisory for Six-Hour Road Closures Yoday

The Capital City Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory to inform residents about temporary road closures across Islamabad for a period of six hours today. The restrictions have been put in place as part of special traffic management arrangements aimed at maintaining order and ensuring smooth vehicular movement during the day.

According to the advisory, several key roads in the federal capital will remain either fully or partially closed from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Police Lines Road and Faisal Avenue will be partially shut, and traffic on these routes will be diverted to designated alternate roads throughout the closure period.

In addition, traffic diversions will also be enforced on Srinagar Highway and the Islamabad Express Highway. The traffic police said these measures are necessary to regulate traffic flow and prevent congestion in sensitive areas. Motorists have been advised to follow the diversion plans and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed on duty.

To minimise inconvenience, commuters are encouraged to use alternative routes such as Margalla Road, Club Road and adjacent service roads. These routes have been identified to help absorb redirected traffic and reduce delays during peak hours.

A spokesperson for the Islamabad Traffic Police urged citizens to plan their travel in advance and leave their homes 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual to avoid unnecessary delays. The spokesperson added that traffic police officers will be stationed at key junctions and entry points across the city to guide motorists, manage traffic flow and ensure public safety.

The Islamabad Traffic Police have appealed to the public to remain patient, follow traffic instructions and cooperate with law enforcement officials to ensure a smooth and hassle-free commute during the advisory period.
