LAHORE – Punjab Inspector General (IG) Usman Anwar has taken strict action against Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Usman Haider after serious allegations surfaced regarding the alleged kidnapping of his own wife and daughter. The Central Police Office issued an official notification confirming his suspension, signaling the gravity of the accusations and the need for an impartial investigation.
According to initial reports, the wife and daughter of DSP Haider went missing almost six weeks ago from the Burki locality of Lahore. The family of the missing woman has openly accused the officer of being involved in their disappearance, adding further pressure on the police department to address the matter transparently. The unusual delay in lodging a missing persons report only intensified doubts about the DSP’s role.
Police officials stated that DSP Haider was reluctant to register the case for several days, which sparked further suspicion among the authorities. This delay has become one of the key factors being examined as part of the inquiry, especially given that the missing individuals are closely related to a serving officer.
Due to the seriousness of the situation, a special investigative team has been constituted to interrogate DSP Haider and conduct a comprehensive inquiry. The authorities have assured that the investigation will be carried out fairly and without any influence.
