Pakistan Post has begun a major digital transformation by launching its official delivery management application nationwide. All postmaster generals have been instructed to activate the app and submit compliance reports by November 14. This initiative is part of Pakistan Post’s broader plan to modernize its operations and improve service efficiency.
Director General Samiullah Khan said devices required for app activation have been provided to post offices across the country. The funding for these devices came through the Universal Postal Union (UPU), supporting Pakistan Post’s digital rollout.
The digital initiative is also linked to ongoing efforts to prevent potential privatisation of the organisation. Key recommendations have been finalized to strengthen Pakistan Post’s financial stability. These proposals will soon be submitted to the Federal Minister for Communications. The government has set a December 31 deadline for Pakistan Post to reduce its operational losses. Officials stressed that digitalisation is essential for the long-term survival of the organisation.
As part of the modernization plan, major post offices will be upgraded with modern computerised systems. These upgrades aim to meet the growing demands of e-commerce and online business deliveries. Officials believe the digital transformation will allow Pakistan Post to launch new public service initiatives that generate additional revenue while improving operational efficiency.
The department is also taking measures to ensure faster mail transmission and timely delivery. Pakistan Post aims to enhance overall service quality for customers nationwide. Officials say the combination of digital tools and modern systems will help streamline operations and strengthen the organisation’s role in the country’s logistics and communication network.
