Trump repeats ‘Seven Beautiful Jets Shot Down,’ taunts Modi

US President Donald Trump has once again targeted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, referencing India’s reported loss of seven fighter jets during clashes with Pakistan in May.

Addressing a dinner event in Japan, Trump asserted that his intervention prevented a major conflict between the two nuclear rivals. He mocked India’s aircraft losses, recounting how tensions escalated before he “stepped in.”

According to Trump, “Seven brand-new, beautiful jets were shot down,” as he claimed to have warned Modi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and even “Field Marshal Asim Munir” that the US would halt trade if the fighting continued. “Within 24 hours, it stopped. Incredible!” he added.

Trump argued that international trade helps prevent conflicts, claiming 70 percent of wars are avoided because of economic ties.Pakistan and India were locked in a dangerous standoff following an attack in occupied Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians, which New Delhi blamed on Pakistan — an allegation Islamabad rejected.

India later carried out strikes inside Pakistan, prompting a forceful counteraction by the Pakistan Armed Forces under Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
