Pakistan’s dengue outbreak continues to escalate, with cases rising across multiple provinces. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), health officials confirmed 74 new cases in 24 hours, pushing the total to 3,939. So far, two people have died from the virus this season, while several patients remain hospitalized.
The most affected districts in KP include Charsadda (1,051 cases), Peshawar (386), Mardan (343), Haripur (329), and Mansehra (299). Authorities are urging the public to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and seek medical care at the first sign of fever.
Other provinces are also witnessing a surge. In Islamabad, 31 new cases were reported, while Punjab recorded 53 more infections — including 18 in Lahore and 13 in Rawalpindi — taking its total to 2,615. Over 18,000 people have been screened, and thousands of inspections have been conducted to destroy mosquito larvae.
In Sindh, 982 dengue cases have been confirmed this year, with 641 in Karachi and 178 in Hyderabad. The provincial government has set up 239 dengue wards and launched large-scale fumigation and awareness drives.
Health authorities nationwide continue to emphasize vigilance, sanitation, and early diagnosis as key measures to curb the spread of dengue before the end of the breeding season.
