Islamabad To Receive AI Command Center Under Rs. 708 Million Project

The Government of Pakistan has approved the establishment of Islamabad’s first AI Command Center under the Smart Islamabad Initiative. The Rs. 708.385 million project aims to modernize urban management through artificial intelligence and real-time data systems.

The initial phase of the project has received Rs. 250 million from the Planning Division. The project includes constructing the AI Command Center, deploying smart sensors, and developing an AI-powered platform for monitoring urban operations in real time. Officials say the initiative could serve as a replicable model for other cities across the country.

The fusion center will centralize access to essential services, bringing officers from different departments under one roof. By integrating data from multiple city systems, the AI Command Center will improve coordination, streamline decision-making, and enhance service delivery across Islamabad.

The National Information Technology Board (NITB), under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, is overseeing the project. NITB has invited proposals for the conceptual design and technical submission of the AI Command Center. The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve Government-to-Government (G2G) and Government-to-Citizen (G2C) services using advanced e-Governance solutions.

Bids are open to firms registered with the Income Tax and Sales Tax departments and listed as active taxpayers with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Tender documents can be downloaded free from the NITB and PPRA websites, and all submissions must be completed electronically through EPADS.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled at the NITB office in Islamabad on October 28, 2025. The deadline for submission is November 6, 2025, with technical bids being opened the same day at NITB headquarters.
