Pakistan-US Ties Called A Strategic Necessity By Envoy

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan Rizwan, has declared that Pakistan-US ties are a strategic necessity, not an option. He stressed that cooperation between the two nations is vital for regional stability, economic growth, and long-term peace.

Speaking at a diplomatic event in Washington, Envoy Rizwan noted that Pakistan-US relations have evolved from being aid-dependent to goal-oriented partnerships based on shared interests. He said the modern relationship now focuses on trade, counterterrorism, technology exchange, and sustainable development, areas that shape the next phase of bilateral engagement.

He added that Pakistan’s collaboration with the US is no longer limited to security matters but extends to innovation, clean energy, and education. According to him, a forward-looking partnership built on economic and strategic cooperation will benefit both countries equally.

Envoy Rizwan emphasized that Pakistan-US ties play a crucial role in ensuring peace in South Asia. “The United States remains one of our most significant partners. Our relationship has stood the test of time and continues to support our mutual objectives,” he stated, underscoring that dialogue and diplomacy remain the cornerstones of their alliance.

He further highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen economic diplomacy by promoting American investment in key sectors, particularly energy, information technology, and agriculture. This shift reflects Islamabad’s broader goal of transforming assistance-based ties into sustainable trade partnerships that foster long-term economic resilience.

In a related development, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to boosting international trade and investment. During his recent engagements, he encouraged deeper collaboration with major economies to attract global investors and expand Pakistan’s market outreach.

Envoy Rizwan concluded that the Pakistan-US relationship is essential for maintaining regional balance and advancing mutual prosperity. His remarks reflect Islamabad’s growing emphasis on strategic cooperation with Washington, calling it a long-term necessity rather than a diplomatic choice.
