Pakistan is set to unveil its first-ever national esports policy and form a dedicated esports federation, marking a significant step toward developing one of the country’s fastest-growing digital industries.
The upcoming policy will establish a structured framework for players, developers, and professionals across Pakistan’s expanding esports ecosystem, which now boasts nearly 60 million gamers.
According to an official statement, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, said the move reflects the government’s vision to empower youth through digital innovation. He noted that esports is a multibillion-dollar global industry, providing vast opportunities in tournaments, sponsorships, and prize earnings.
Khan emphasized that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, the government is taking practical steps to promote digital growth, positioning esports as a central pillar of Pakistan’s innovation and technology agenda.
Pakistan has already achieved recognition in global titles such as Tekken and PUBG Mobile, and officials believe the new policy will help formalize the industry’s growth, enabling local talent to compete more effectively on the international esports stage.
