US President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, calling him “my favourite Field Marshal” during his speech at the Gaza Peace Agreement ceremony held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The comment came as Trump highlighted the key international figures who supported efforts toward ending the Gaza conflict.

Trump commended Field Marshal Asim Munir for his leadership and role in backing the peace process that led to the historic ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. He said Munir’s diplomatic coordination and Pakistan’s balanced approach played an important role in bringing stability to the Middle East.

The US President also extended appreciation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for Pakistan’s consistent support of humanitarian and peace initiatives in Gaza. Trump said both Pakistani leaders contributed to the broader effort of promoting regional peace and cooperation.

Speaking at the same event, Shehbaz Sharif praised Trump for his efforts in ending the bloodshed in Gaza and for facilitating international consensus on the peace deal. He described Trump’s initiative as a “historic breakthrough” and confirmed that Pakistan had officially nominated the US President for the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in ending the conflict.

Trump’s remarks about Asim Munir were met with widespread attention on social media, with many noting the growing diplomatic warmth between Washington and Islamabad. Analysts view Trump’s public recognition of Pakistan’s military leadership as a sign of stronger cooperation in future regional security and humanitarian efforts.

Field Marshal Asim Munir has been a prominent figure in Pakistan’s diplomatic and defense policy, often emphasizing peace, stability, and counter-terrorism collaboration at the international level. His acknowledgment by Trump adds to his rising profile as a global military leader respected beyond South Asia.

The event also reaffirmed Pakistan’s growing role in peace diplomacy, as both Shehbaz and Asim Munir continue to represent the country on international platforms promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
