UAE Expands Visa-on-Arrival to Six More Countries

The United Arab Emirates has expanded its visa-on-arrival program to include nationals of six additional countries and their accompanying family members, making it easier for eligible travelers to visit the country.

Under the revised policy, citizens of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa holding ordinary passports can obtain either a 14-day or 60-day visa on arrival.

To qualify, travelers must hold a valid residence permit issued by the United States, a member state of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada.

According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, the 14-day visa can be extended once while the visitor remains in the UAE. The 60-day visa, however, is valid for a single stay and cannot be extended.

Authorities stated that visitors must leave the country before their visa expires or face an overstay fine of Dh50 per day.

The visa issuance fee has been set at Dh100 for the 14-day visa and Dh250 for the 60-day visa.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the expansion of the visa-on-arrival program reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening ties with friendly nations while promoting tourism, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

The ICP added that the revised policy forms part of ongoing efforts to modernize the UAE’s visa framework, broaden eligibility, and align travel services with international best practices, reinforcing the country’s position as a leading global destination for tourism, business, and investment.
