Windows Copilot Receives Two Major Free Upgrades For Users

Microsoft has rolled out a major update for Windows Copilot, bringing two significant new features to users. These upgrades aim to make Copilot a more powerful productivity assistant. The new features include account connectors and document generation tools, which enhance the assistant’s capabilities for work and personal use.

The account connectors feature allows users to link multiple services, including OneDrive, Outlook, Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Calendar. Once connected, Windows Copilot can retrieve information from these accounts using natural language. For example, users can ask, “Find my notes from last week” or “What is Sarah’s email address?” and receive results from all linked services. The connectors are opt-in, meaning users must enable them manually in Copilot’s settings under the “Connectors” section.

The second upgrade focuses on document creation. Users can now generate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF files directly from the Copilot chat. When a response exceeds 600 characters, an “Export” button appears, allowing instant conversion into the desired file format. This feature simplifies workflows, eliminating the need to copy content manually between applications.

These updates are part of Microsoft’s plan to make Windows Copilot a central productivity hub across Windows 11 and Microsoft 365. The assistant is now integrated into key applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote. Users can generate summaries, edit content, and create new material without leaving the app. In Outlook, Copilot can summarize attachments directly within the reading pane, and a new sidebar allows real-time chat alongside emails.

The update, version 1.25095.161.0 and above, is initially available for Windows Insiders. Microsoft confirmed a gradual rollout, so not all users will receive the features immediately. These enhancements aim to make Windows Copilot a more seamless and versatile tool for everyday work, improving productivity across devices and platforms.

This update highlights Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to integrating AI tools into Windows, helping users manage tasks and information efficiently.
