Is PPP Ready to Shake Up the Govt? Big Challenge to PML-N!

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Inam Memon has thrown a bold challenge at Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, urging her to resign and contest fresh elections to see who truly enjoys public support

Memon said, “Let both of us resign and recontest. Then we’ll see who really serves the people and who’s only popular because of TikTok.” He added that the contest would expose whether Maryam’s fame is genuine or fleeting.

Memon also lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for supporting a man who had earlier made derogatory remarks about Sindh, calling it hypocrisy and disrespect toward the province. He accused the PML-N of playing the “Punjab card” instead of addressing the struggles of flood victims in South Punjab.

Responding to Maryam’s earlier remark that “no self-respecting person asks for aid,” Memon pointed out that even Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif sought international help, questioning whether she considered him “without dignity.”

The war of words has escalated tensions between the two coalition allies, with PML-N’s Azma Bukhari firing back, accusing PPP of “interfering in Punjab’s affairs” and provoking unnecessary political fights.
