The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a nationwide awareness campaign warning citizens about fake online job offers linked to an Indian Spy Network. The campaign aims to protect Pakistanis from schemes attempting to steal sensitive information about key installations.
According to PTA sources, the Indian Spy Network is targeting Pakistanis through fraudulent job opportunities. Fake companies, allegedly operated from India, are offering attractive salaries to lure citizens into sharing personal and professional data. These scams are often spread through platforms like LinkedIn and job portals such as “Job Gulf.”
The PTA has already identified and blocked several fake websites involved in these operations. The awareness campaign educates the public about online fraud, phishing, and deceptive digital job offers that could threaten national security. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with suspicious job postings.
Sources revealed that operatives from the Indian Spy Network often pose as company representatives on social media, offering fake jobs to Pakistani youth. Under the pretext of surveys or research, they attempt to collect images, locations, and details of sensitive national projects. This information could be misused to undermine Pakistan’s interests.
The PTA emphasized that public awareness is the first line of defense against cyber threats. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity related to fake job offers to help authorities prevent potential security breaches. The campaign highlights the importance of caution while interacting with online job portals or unknown recruiters.
Experts say that such initiatives are crucial as the Indian Spy Network increasingly uses cyber tactics to gather intelligence. By remaining alert and informed, Pakistanis can avoid falling victim to foreign digital infiltration and protect national infrastructure.
