Abdul Aleem Khan Calls For Stronger Connectivity At Silk Way Forum

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has called for stronger regional connectivity at the Silk Way Forum. He said improved trade corridors and enhanced air links are vital for boosting regional commerce and cooperation.

Speaking at the Almaty Roundtable Conference on Transportation, Khan underlined the importance of air connectivity. He noted that flights between Silk Way Forum member states must increase to support trade, business travel, and cultural exchange.

The minister added that trade corridors are key to creating opportunities for mutual growth. He said stronger land routes would expand regional commerce and allow countries to benefit from each other’s experiences.

Khan also invited Silk Way Forum member states to attend the Regional Transport Ministers Conference in Islamabad on October 23–24. He said the event would provide a platform to discuss practical steps toward enhancing cooperation.

Encouraging greater interaction, Khan urged business communities and citizens of member countries to travel more frequently. He said stronger people-to-people ties would help build lasting trust and cooperation across the region.

“This forum provides a valuable opportunity to learn from one another,” Khan said. He expressed hope for positive results and pointed to recent meetings with Kazakhstan’s vice president and ministers as proof of productive dialogue.

The minister stressed that Pakistan views Central Asian countries as a strategic gateway for its economy and communication networks. He said greater regional cooperation could help improve transport infrastructure and speed up economic growth.

Kazakhstan’s Transport Minister Nurlan Soranbayev, who hosted the session, welcomed Pakistan’s participation. He echoed the importance of building deeper regional collaboration through the Silk Way Forum to achieve shared development goals.

The forum continues to be seen as an important platform for promoting connectivity, strengthening partnerships, and driving economic progress across the region.
