A District and Sessions Court on Tuesday formally indicted Imaan Mazari and Abdul Hadi Ali Chattha in a controversial case involving tweets targeting state and national security institutions.
The indictment was announced by Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Majuka during the hearing. Neither accused was present in court, but their assistant counsel appeared on their behalf. The counsel explained that Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali had attended earlier proceedings but left for another hearing in Rawalpindi.
The court questioned under whose authority they had left and proceeded to read out the charges. Prosecution witnesses were instructed to appear later the same day at 1:30 pm to provide testimony.
The assistant counsel requested a copy of the indictment order. The court instructed that a formal application must be submitted to obtain it, in line with legal procedures.

The case emphasizes the importance of following proper legal processes while addressing high-profile online controversies.
The hearing was adjourned until 1:30 pm for further proceedings. Observers are closely monitoring the case, as it raises questions about the balance between free speech and national security regulations.
