ISLAMABAD – The Excise and Taxation Department has warned that it will cancel the registration of vehicles with unpaid taxes if dues are not cleared by October 10. Officials said red notices were already issued to defaulters whose taxes remained pending as of June 30, 2025, and their registrations were provisionally suspended. Failure to pay by the deadline will result in permanent cancellation.
Authorities explained that once cancelled, registration will only be restored after complete payment of outstanding dues along with heavy fines. To ease the process, the department has established special help counters to guide taxpayers.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad Traffic Police announced a parallel crackdown on unlicensed drivers starting October 8. Anyone caught driving without a valid license will face strict action, including arrest and vehicle impoundment.
Inspector General of Police Ali Nasir Rizvi has directed that the campaign be enforced uniformly, covering both private and government drivers. The move underscores the government’s resolve to ensure tax compliance and road safety across the federal capital.
