Sindh’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), aided by an intelligence agency, has dismantled a RAW-linked terror network and arrested four suspects in the killing of social worker Razaullah Nizamani.
At a press briefing, Additional IGP CTD Azad Khan Tanoli revealed that Nizamani was gunned down on May 18 in Matli, Badin. He said the murder was exploited by Indian media as propaganda amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.
Investigators identified RAW officer Sanjay Sanjeev Kumar, operating from a Gulf country, as the mastermind. The main suspect, Salman Virk from Sheikhupura, fled abroad after the killing and later escaped to Nepal.
CTD arrested Umair Asghar, Sajjad, Obaid, and Shakeel on July 8, who confessed to working for RAW’s local network and a banned militant group. They also disclosed plans for more attacks in Karachi.
Two pistols, a motorcycle, and mobile phones used in the crime were seized. Tanoli said RAW financed the operation, often using terrorist and criminal groups for its activities in Pakistan.
He added that investigators also found RAW links with a Sindhi separatist group, with more arrests likely
