A troubling case from Uttar Pradesh has emerged involving a woman who faced abuse due to her husband’s obsession with Bollywood star Nora Fatehi. The 26-year-old woman from Muradnagar accused her husband, a 28-year-old physical education teacher from Meerut, of forcing her into daily three-hour gym sessions. The husband wanted her to look like Nora Fatehi.
The woman claimed that if she refused, her husband would limit her food intake to prevent weight gain. He also frequently mocked her appearance, saying his life was ruined because she did not resemble the actress Nora Fatehi.
Despite her family spending nearly ₹75 lakh on the wedding, including a Mahindra Scorpio and jewelry, the woman said her in-laws kept demanding more dowry. The harassment did not stop there.
The woman also alleged that she became pregnant two months ago. However, she was tricked by her husband into taking an abortion pill, which caused a miscarriage and led to her hospitalization. After this incident, she claimed her in-laws barred her from entering their home in July.
Police have registered an FIR against the husband and his parents. The charges include dowry harassment, humiliation, and forced abortion.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dhawal Jaiswal confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to verify the allegations.
This case shows how the obsession with Nora Fatehi has had severe consequences in one family. It highlights issues of abuse, dowry harassment, and forced abortion in some areas of India.
