[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]LAHORE: Imran Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has filed a petition seeking protective bail in four cases as he faces arrest in the Toshakhana charges amid continued skirmishes between his supporters and police officials outside his residence in the Punjab capital.
Azhar Siddique, an advocate, has submitted a bail petition in cases reported at the Ramna police station in Islamabad and the Race Course Police Station in Lahore. He contended that because Mr Khan wished to appear in court on March 18 in Islamabad, he should be given protective bail.
The petitioner has named the chief secretary, IGP, Lahore CCPO, and other individuals as respondents in the case. He claimed that the administration had sieged the city in order to arrest Imran Khan, and that police had used shelling and baton charges against PTI workers.

Previously, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry came before LHC Chief Judge Ameer Bhatti, pleading with him to issue an order stopping the police operation at Zaman Park. The chief judge then asked how the court could hear a matter when no petition had been filed.
Mr Chaudhry responded that they were preparing a petition, which will be submitted in half an hour. When the judge inquired about the arrest warrants, Mr Siddique stated that they were issued by an Islamabad court on Monday. At this point, the chief judge sent them to the courts in Islamabad, as it was not within his jurisdiction.
The former communications minister stated that the case involved human lives and asked the judge to schedule an early hearing.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
