Partial Suspension of Metro Bus Service in Rawalpindi

The Metro bus service in Rawalpindi was partially suspended on Friday in connection with Chehlum processions.

According to the Metro Bus administration, service between Saddar Station and Faizabad has been halted for the day on the district administration’s orders to ensure security for the Chehlum of the martyrs of Karbala.

Officials clarified that operations within Islamabad — from IJP to the Pak Secretariat — are running as usual. Passengers depending on the Rawalpindi section have been advised to opt for alternative transportation.

Authorities stated that the suspension is part of a broader security plan for the twin cities, aimed at ensuring the smooth passage of processions and minimising inconvenience for participants.

The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions is being marked nationwide with reverence and solemnity.
