The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has implemented a mandatory entry fee for tourists visiting popular destinations like Naran, Kaghan, and Lake Saif-ul-Malook. No visitor will be allowed access without payment, as part of a new policy for managing tourism in Kaghan Valley.
As per official documents, a dedicated collection point will be set up at Hussamabad where the entry fee will be collected. The charges are set at PKR 200 per person for those traveling in large vehicles, PKR 100 per person in small vehicles, and PKR 20 for individuals on motorcycles. Importantly, local residents are exempt from these fees.
This decision aims to better regulate tourist inflow, improve facilities, and ensure sustainable tourism in the region, which attracts thousands of visitors annually. The fee collection system is also expected to support maintenance and infrastructure development in these high-traffic areas.
Authorities believe this step will help control overcrowding, preserve the natural beauty of these destinations, and generate revenue for local development. The new system will be enforced strictly, and no exceptions will be made for tourists not paying the designated fee.
