Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with a delegation from Beijing Police, led by Deputy Director General Gao Jianzan, to discuss strengthening law enforcement ties between Pakistan and China, reported 24NewsHDTV.
The talks focused on enhancing cooperation between Islamabad Police and Beijing Police, especially in modern policing and technology use.
As part of the agreement, Islamabad police officers will soon travel to Beijing for advanced training. This includes modern policing techniques and AI applications to improve security in Pakistan’s capital. Minister Naqvi highlighted Beijing Police’s expertise in technology-driven crime fighting, stating the training will boost Islamabad Police’s skills and capabilities.
Beijing also offered support in anti-riot training. Minister Naqvi emphasized the importance of real-time information sharing to fight terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, and human smuggling.
He thanked the Chinese delegation for their commitment to police cooperation, calling it vital for regional security.
The Chinese delegation included Li Yuhang, Deputy Director General of China’s Ministry of Public Security, and senior Beijing Police officials.
On the Pakistani side, the meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, FIA Director General, and Islamabad Police Inspector General.
This meeting marks a key step toward a long-term law enforcement partnership between Islamabad and Beijing, with both sides pledging ongoing collaboration.
