$40 Million Saudi Fund Brings Major Relief for Hajj and Umrah Pilgrims

Hajj and Umrah pilgrims are set to save thousands of rupees on travel expenses due to a new $40 million fund created by Saudi travel and hospitality companies. This fund, equivalent to about Rs. 15 billion, aims to reduce pilgrim costs by up to Rs. 50,000 each.

Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf welcomed the initiative. He said the fund will make the pilgrimage more affordable for many Pakistani pilgrims.

At a recent ceremony, the minister also announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has rejected the initial report on the disappearance of 63,000 Hajj pilgrims. A new committee has been formed to investigate this issue thoroughly.

To promote religious unity, Sardar Muhammad Yousuf revealed plans to launch a prayer calendar soon in Islamabad. He also spoke about organizing group travel packages for pilgrims visiting Iran, Iraq, and Syria, similar to the arrangements made for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

During a meeting with the Shia Ulema Council delegation, the minister stressed the importance of working together to ensure peace and harmony across the country.

This $40 million Saudi fund is a significant relief for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, helping reduce financial burdens and improve access to sacred journeys. The government continues to support pilgrims through various initiatives, aiming for a smooth and safe pilgrimage experience.
