Samar Haroon Bilour, a senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), has officially joined the PML-N. She made the announcement after meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The meeting was held at the Prime Minister House. Senior PML-N leaders, including Engineer Amir Muqam and Zahid Khan, also attended.

Prime Minister Shehbaz welcomed Samar Haroon to the PML-N. He said her inclusion would strengthen the party’s position in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Samar praised the government’s recent budget and said she supports its economic direction. She expressed hope for development in her province.

Speaking to the media, Zahid Khan confirmed that PML-N has offered Samar a reserved seat in the National Assembly. Samar also confirmed this decision.

Engineer Amir Muqam said Samar’s decision to join the PML-N is a positive step for both the party and the province.

Samar comes from a respected political family in Peshawar. She is the widow of Haroon Bilour, who was killed in a 2018 suicide blast. Her father-in-law, Bashir Ahmed Bilour, also died in a similar attack in 2012.

Samar entered politics after her husband’s death and was elected an MPA from PK-83 Peshawar. She lost the seat in the 2024 general elections to a PTI candidate.

Her decision to join the PML-N marks a major political shift in the region. Party leaders believe her experience will help them connect better with voters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Further announcements regarding her role are expected in the coming weeks.
