In a major relief for overseas Pakistanis, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has rolled out a 120-day tax-free mobile registration facility aimed at simplifying mobile usage during short visits to the country. The initiative ensures seamless connectivity without the usual taxation hurdles.
The newly introduced system allows overseas visitors to register their mobile devices automatically and free of charge, eliminating the need for physical submissions or visits to offices. The facility will be available every time a Pakistani citizen returns from abroad.

Under this scheme, individuals can use their mobile phones tax-free for up to 120 days during each visit. The PTA clarified that the system is designed specifically to ease the burden of device registration, a process that has long been a challenge for many.
With this step, the PTA aims to enhance convenience and improve the experience of overseas Pakistanis, ensuring they stay connected without unnecessary delays or financial strain.
