The death toll from monsoon-triggered flash floods and rain-related accidents across Pakistan has risen to 45, with 13 fatalities reported in the past 24 hours alone. Torrential rains continue to lash several regions, overwhelming local infrastructure and sparking renewed warnings from disaster authorities.
From flash floods surging through the mountainous valleys of Swat to roof collapses in urban centres like Karachi, the impact has been widespread and deadly. Vulnerable areas with poor drainage and fragile housing have been hardest hit, raising concerns over the country’s preparedness as the monsoon season intensifies.

Punjab has emerged as one of the worst-affected provinces, recording 13 deaths since Wednesday. Among the victims were eight children, tragically killed in incidents involving collapsing walls or roofs during heavy rainfall. The other casualties were adults swept away in sudden flash floods.
Authorities have issued fresh alerts, cautioning that more downpours are expected throughout the week, posing risks to both low-lying urban zones and high-altitude communities. Emergency teams remain on high alert as relief operations continue in affected areas.
