Gold prices closed the week on a downward trend, continuing their decline on June 28 due to a slump in the international bullion market.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), gold prices dropped by Rs1,600 per tola, settling at Rs349,400, while the rate for 10 grams fell by Rs1,371 to Rs299,554. This follows a major drop earlier in the week when gold plunged by Rs5,000 per tola, ending at Rs351,000.

Internationally, gold also dipped by $16 to $3,274 per ounce, reflecting cautious investor sentiment. Silver prices, however, remained unchanged at Rs3,782 per tola.
Experts attribute the fall to global economic fluctuations and a stronger US dollar, warning that bullion markets may remain unstable in the near term.
