Islamabad police have arrested the main suspect involved in the tragic murder of popular TikToker Sana Yousuf, confirming that she was killed after repeatedly rejecting the suspect’s advances.
According to officials, the incident took place in a posh area of the capital where a masked gunman entered Sana’s residence and opened fire before fleeing. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after.

Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, said that the case was treated as a high-profile targeted killing. Law enforcement used advanced investigative tools such as geo-fencing and CCTV analysis to trace and arrest the suspect within 20 hours. The suspect reportedly confessed during interrogation, and police recovered the murder weapon and Sana’s mobile phone.
The suspect is said to have been a known acquaintance who possibly entered the house under the guise of a guest. A formal case has been registered, and the charge sheet will soon be submitted to court.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the police for their swift action, adding that it sends a strong message against lawlessness. The investigation is being treated as a model case, and the judicial process is expected to be expedited.
The murder has sparked outrage on social media, with users calling for severe punishment. Many described the tragedy as a grim reflection of the risks faced by women in the digital space.
Sana, who hailed from Chitral, had a strong presence on TikTok and was admired for her content and courage. Her body was sent to PIMS for post-mortem.
