Education Special Secretary Qaiser Alam confirmed that directives have been sent to all district education officers (DEOs) and school principals to conduct thorough security assessments of their premises. “All available resources will be mobilized to ensure the safety of our children and educators,” Alam stated. “A joint security strategy is being developed in collaboration with district authorities and police.”

According to the new security guidelines, schools must establish effective screening procedures at all entry points. Deployment of trained security personnel and installation of CCTV cameras for continuous surveillance have been made mandatory.

Additionally, schools are required to conduct safety awareness sessions for students and implement an emergency alert system alongside clear evacuation plans to respond swiftly to any potential threats.

The deadly attack in Khuzdar claimed the lives of five individuals, including three schoolchildren, and injured several others. The explosion occurred near Zero Point on the Karachi-Quetta National Highway when a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device placed in a vehicle alongside the road as a school bus passed by.

A senior police official revealed, “The explosive material was planted in a vehicle parked on the roadside and detonated remotely as the school bus approached.” Investigations are ongoing to identify the nature of the device and the perpetrators behind the attack.
