PM Shehbaz Sharif Seeks Peaceful Talks with India on Water and Kashmir

He began by reciting verses from the Quran, invoking divine blessings for Pakistan and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsus. The prime minister addressed the nation, praising their patriotism and courage, emphasizing that Pakistanis stand united in defense of their sovereignty.

He criticized India’s actions, calling them cowardly and unjust, particularly highlighting India’s attempt to provoke conflict using the Pahalgam incident. Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s restraint in the face of these provocations and stressed that any unresolved issues would be dealt with on the battlefield. He praised Pakistan’s military for swiftly responding, calling their actions a historic moment in military history.

The prime minister extended heartfelt gratitude to Pakistan’s armed forces and political leaders for their support. He expressed special appreciation for opposition parties, the media, and social media users who countered India’s false narratives. He also thanked Pakistan’s long-time ally, China, for its unwavering support during this crisis.

Sharif acknowledged the positive role of international leaders in facilitating the ceasefire, specifically thanking US President Donald Trump, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, the UK, and the UN for their efforts. He expressed hope that negotiations would now address critical issues, including water resource distribution and the Kashmir conflict.
