The Sindh Government has completed preparations to launch the Sindh Youth Card, a new initiative designed to support young people through education, financial assistance, and employment opportunities across the province.
The Sindh Government plans to officially launch the program in the last week of August. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is expected to inaugurate the initiative.
According to Sindh Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar, the program has been introduced on the special directives of the PPP chairman. He said the initiative aims to improve access to higher education, skills development, and better employment opportunities for young people.
During the first phase, the Sindh Government will issue the Sindh Youth Card to 100,000 applicants. Eligible participants must be between 15 and 29 years of age. The program will cover all 30 districts of Sindh.
The Sindh Youth Card will provide several benefits to cardholders. Students will be able to apply for university scholarships and receive opportunities to continue higher education in Pakistan and abroad. The initiative also aims to help deserving youth achieve their academic and professional goals.
In addition to educational support, the program will offer interest-free loans and financial assistance. These measures are intended to encourage entrepreneurship and help young people become financially independent.
The card will also provide access to advanced skills training programs. Officials believe these training opportunities will improve employability and prepare participants for the changing demands of the job market.
Cardholders will also receive discounts on local public transport and train travel. They will be given preferential access to selected public and private sector services, making the program more beneficial for young people across the province.
According to the minister, the initiative is especially designed for youth who previously had limited access to government support programs. He said the project will create equal opportunities and help more young people build successful careers.
The Sindh Government has decided that the entire registration process will be conducted online. Officials said the application procedure will be simple and accessible to eligible applicants across the province.
However, only individuals holding a valid Sindh domicile will be eligible to apply for the Sindh Youth Card. This requirement has been introduced to ensure that the benefits reach residents of the province.
The card will be issued in partnership with Jazz Bank, which will manage its distribution. Authorities said complete registration guidelines, eligibility details, and the application schedule will be announced soon.
Officials believe the program will strengthen youth development by improving access to education, financial support, and employment opportunities. The initiative is also expected to encourage skills development and economic participation among young people.
