Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has lauded the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for its exceptional performance amid ongoing tensions, calling their defence of the homeland “a glorious victory in the skies.” In a message posted on social media platform X, she praised the PAF’s exemplary skills, strategy, and courage, saluting their professional expertise and heroic contribution to safeguarding Pakistan’s airspace.
In a separate diplomatic engagement, Maryam Nawaz met with Finland’s Ambassador Hannu Ripatti, where both sides agreed to enhance cooperation and deepen bilateral ties. She welcomed the reopening of Finland’s embassy in Islamabad and highlighted Finland’s advancements in education, technology, and environmental protection as models worth emulating. The chief minister emphasized that Punjab offers vast opportunities for Finnish investment in renewable energy, agriculture, digital services, and education.

Maryam Nawaz also congratulated the Christian community on the election of American-born Cardinal Robert Prevost as Pope, expressing her hope that his leadership would promote global unity through love and tolerance. Additionally, she conveyed her condolences over the death of former PML-N parliamentarian Haji Irfan Ahmed Khan Daha, acknowledging his services.
