Pakistani security forces successfully intercepted and shot down six additional Indian drones on Friday, escalating the total number of downed enemy drones to 77. The drones, reportedly of Israeli manufacture, were neutralised in separate operations across Punjab’s Okara, Pakpattan, and Vehari districts.
According to security sources, four drones were intercepted in Okara, while one each was taken down in Pakpattan and Vehari. The military confirmed that all drones had violated Pakistani airspace and were detected by radar systems before being engaged. A military spokesperson emphasised that the nation’s air defence network is equipped to identify and track even small drones, ensuring public safety near urban areas and commercial flight routes.

Local police officials reported that the drone wreckage fell into farmlands near densely populated villages, but no casualties were recorded in these incidents. Security forces quickly secured the crash sites, and debris has been collected for detailed examination.
This latest event follows similar actions earlier in the week, including a drone interception in Narowal district. Pakistani authorities reaffirmed that surveillance and monitoring continue uninterrupted to counter any cross-border threats swiftly and effectively.
