The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has dismissed rumors about an impending YouTube ban, calling them entirely false.

In a statement on Saturday, the PTA clarified that the widely circulated notice is over ten years old and unrelated to the current situation. The notice, from 2012, referred to then-Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf’s decision to suspend YouTube due to blasphemous content.

The PTA pointed out that this outdated notice is being misused, causing unnecessary confusion. They emphasized that there are no new orders to block or restrict access to YouTube or any other social media platform.

The PTA urged the public to rely on verified information from its official website or social media channels and to avoid spreading unverified news that could create panic or misinformation.
