Lahore Qalandars, two-time Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions, have honored their skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi with a unique gift — a 24-karat gold-plated iPhone 16 Pro — in recognition of his leadership and impact on the team.
The moment was captured in a video shared by the franchise on social media, showing team owner Sameen Rana presenting the lavish token to Afridi in the presence of teammates and staff. Afridi, clearly taken by surprise, joked, “This is heavy,” while fellow pacer Haris Rauf sparked laughter with his cheeky comment, “No, brother, this is unfair.”

Sameen Rana explained that the phone was custom-made, engraved with Afridi’s name and the Lahore Qalandars logo, celebrating the captain’s pivotal role in the team’s journey.
This gesture stands out amid contrasting reward choices in the PSL, with other teams receiving criticism for offering less glamorous items, like hairdryers and trimmers. In contrast, Qalandars’ move has been widely appreciated by fans.
Currently, Lahore Qalandars sit third in the table, having won two of their three matches so far this season — a strong start under their celebrated captain.
