Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is set to resume flights to the United Kingdom after Eidul Fitr, following the removal of the European Union ban, according to Pakistan’s High Commissioner Mohammad Faisal.
Dr. Faisal announced that flights will initially operate between London, Manchester, and Pakistan, with plans to reinstate services from Birmingham as well. A formal ceremony will mark the official resumption, with media representatives invited to attend.

The EU ban on PIA, imposed in June 2020 after a Karachi plane crash and concerns over pilot credentials, was lifted earlier this year. PIA restarted European operations with a flight to Paris on January 10, 2024, ending a four-and-a-half-year suspension.
Meanwhile, PIA’s privatization process is gaining traction, with major investors such as the Arif Habib Group, Taba Group, and YB Holdings showing interest. Meetings in Islamabad have taken place to discuss acquisition terms, as stakeholders evaluate the airline’s future prospects.
