Shehbaz Sharif also touched on the funding for the project, stating that the £190 million allocated for the university had been deposited into the Supreme Court’s account. He expressed gratitude towards the Chief Justice for acknowledging that the funds belong to the government and the people, granting the government full discretion over their use.
Criticizing past mismanagement, the prime minister called the previous handling of these funds an act of dishonesty, as the money had been placed in an account unrelated to the national treasury. He vowed to ensure transparency and efficiency in the use of these funds to benefit the country’s educational sector.
