WhatsApp has introduced a new feature aimed at simplifying and improving the calling experience for its users. The update, currently available to select beta testers via the Google Play Store, replaces the previous two-button setup for voice and video calls with a single button, allowing users to select their preferred call type through a streamlined menu.
In one-on-one chats, the new button defaults to a voice call icon, but tapping it opens a menu where users can choose between a voice or video call. This change makes it easier to initiate the desired call type without switching between multiple buttons.

A key addition to this feature is the ability to select specific members of a group to call, rather than initiating a call with all participants. This makes group communication more flexible, enabling users to reach out only to the people they need, improving the app’s usability for larger group chats.
Another major enhancement is the ability to create and share call links directly from the new call menu. Users can now generate a link to a call and share it, allowing others to join the call without needing to manually enter phone numbers or send individual invitations.
These updates reflect WhatsApp’s continued efforts to enhance communication within its app, offering a more user-friendly and efficient experience for both personal and professional use. The new features are currently in beta testing but are expected to roll out to a broader audience soon.
