Kubra Yildirim has made history by becoming the first female captain of the Airbus A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft. A seasoned pilot with over a decade of experience, Yildirim’s achievement represents a major milestone in both her career and the global aviation industry.
Yildirim’s aviation journey began with an internship at Turkish Airlines’ maintenance division, THY Technik. She then advanced to train as a first officer on the airline’s Airbus fleet, and her career took off when she moved to Dubai, where she flew the A380 for several years. Recently promoted to captain, Yildirim now commands the giant aircraft, cementing her place as a trailblazer for women in aviation.
