Unauthorized Gathering and Special Treatment
According to sources, the convict’s family was invited to the hospital ward, where an elaborate meal was arranged, creating a celebratory atmosphere. The incident, which came to light last week, led to an internal investigation. Following a detailed inquiry, an FIR was lodged against the officers involved on Saturday.
Security Breach and Bribery Allegations
The police report indicates that the personnel not only breached security protocols but also accepted bribes to facilitate the special treatment. The prisoner, who is serving a 25-year sentence for murder, was reportedly treated more like a guest than an inmate.
Upon learning of the incident, senior authorities took swift action, arresting the officers implicated in the misconduct. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the wrongdoing and identify any additional accomplices within the department.
Commitment to Justice and Prevention Measures
Authorities have pledged strict action against those responsible, emphasizing that such breaches undermine the integrity of the justice system and violate prison regulations.
Punjab police have assured that all those involved will be held accountable and that measures are being implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
