Balochistan Bus Attack: Seven Passengers Executed in Barkhan
BARKHAN, BALOCHISTAN – In a shocking act of violence, seven passengers were brutally killed after being forcibly removed from a bus traveling from Quetta to Lahore on February 19, 2025.
Attack Details
The assailants set up a checkpoint near Rarkan, where they halted the bus, examined passengers’ identity cards, and executed seven individuals hailing from Punjab.

The victims have been identified as:
- Muhammad Ishaq
- Ashiq Hussain
- Asim Ali
- Adnan Mustafa
- Muhammad Ajmal
Their bodies were transported to Rakni Hospital, where an emergency was declared.
Government’s Response
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly act by enemies of peace. He emphasized that targeting innocent and unarmed civilians is unacceptable and vowed that the perpetrators will face justice.
Security forces, including the Frontier Corps (FC) and Levies, have reached the scene and launched a manhunt for the terrorists.
A Repeat of Previous Attacks
This attack mirrors a similar incident on August 26, 2024, when militants in the Musakhail district of Balochistan killed 23 passengers in a highway ambush. The ongoing violence raises serious concerns about traveler safety and underscores the security challenges in Balochistan.
CM Bugti’s Statement
“I strongly condemn the martyrdom of seven innocent travelers at the hands of terrorists,” stated Bugti. “Such cowardly acts of terrorism are unforgivable, and we will not rest until the terrorists are brought to justice.”
Terming the attack intolerable, he assured a firm response against the culprits, promising that those responsible for this heinous crime will be held accountable.
