Aaradhya Bachchan, the 13-year-old daughter of Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, has initiated legal proceedings against several media outlets for circulating misleading content about her online. The Delhi High Court has issued notices to platforms such as Google and Bollywood Times, with a hearing scheduled for 17 March.
The defamation case follows an earlier ruling in April 2023, when the court ordered Google to remove videos falsely claiming that Aaradhya was gravely ill or had passed away. Justice C Hari Shankar condemned the dissemination of such false information, declaring it “entirely unacceptable in law” and stressing the importance of protecting the dignity of children, regardless of their public profiles.

In the latest hearing, Justice Mini Pushkarna expressed concern over the absence of several defendants, describing them as “vitiators and uploaders” who failed to appear in court. Their absence effectively waived their right to defend against the allegations, leading to the adjournment of the case until March.
Aaradhya, the granddaughter of Bollywood legends Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, has frequently been the target of online rumours, particularly concerning her health. Previous court orders have required YouTube to take down over 20 videos containing false reports about her, with the court emphasizing that children, including those from celebrity families, should be treated with respect and not subjected to unnecessary public speculation.
Meanwhile, Aaradhya’s parents, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, have also been the subject of media gossip, with rumors surrounding their relationship gaining momentum after the couple was seen arriving separately at a recent wedding event. Speculation further intensified due to Abhishek’s engagement with social media posts discussing “grey divorces,” but neither Abhishek nor Aishwarya has publicly commented on these rumors.
