Bangladesh Expresses Interest in Pakistan’s JF-17 Fighter Jets

A high-ranking Bangladeshi defense delegation, led by Lieutenant General SM Qamarul Hassan, visited Pakistan on Wednesday and met with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters in Islamabad.

The visit aimed to strengthen military relations, focusing on Pakistan’s domestically developed JF-17 Thunder fighter jets.

The JF-17 Thunder, a multi-role combat aircraft co-developed by Pakistan and China, is recognized for its advanced capabilities in air-to-air and air-to-ground combat, offering high performance at a competitive cost. Its versatility and state-of-the-art features make it an attractive option for countries seeking advanced military technology within budget constraints.

During the meeting, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing military cooperation with Bangladesh, discussing joint training opportunities and potential broader collaborations between their air forces.

Lieutenant General Hassan praised the PAF’s technological advancements and expressed particular interest in the JF-17 Thunder’s production process, commending Pakistan’s capacity to develop advanced military equipment domestically.
