Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are set to rise by Rs. 3-5 per liter in mid-January 2025, driven by a spike in global crude oil prices. Brent crude futures climbed to $77.32 per barrel, marking a three-month high, fueled by concerns over supply disruptions and increased winter energy demand.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed the new prices, which await approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Finance Division. If approved, the changes will take effect on January 16.

This anticipated hike follows recent fuel price adjustments in early January 2025, including a Rs. 0.56 increase for petrol and Rs. 2.96 for high-speed diesel.
