US Imposes New Sanctions on Pakistan’s Ballistic Missile Program Entities
ISLAMABAD – The United States has imposed additional sanctions on four entities linked to Pakistan’s ballistic missile program, including the National Development Complex and three companies accused of supplying missile-related equipment.
The US State Department announced that these sanctions were enacted under Executive Order 13382, aimed at addressing the proliferation of long-range missile technology. The sanctioned entities include Affiliates International, Akhtar and Sons Private Limited, and Rockside Enterprise. These organizations are accused of providing crucial missile-related equipment to Pakistan, contributing to the development of its missile capabilities.

Washington reiterated its commitment to taking actions against proliferation activities that pose global security risks. This move follows sanctions imposed in 2023 on Chinese entities that were believed to have aided Pakistan’s missile program. The US government has signaled that it will continue targeting efforts that support the development of long-range missile systems in Pakistan.
Pakistan Decries US Sanctions as Unfair and Biased
Pakistan’s Foreign Office swiftly responded to the new US sanctions, labeling them as “unfortunate” and “biased.” The government argued that these sanctions target entities crucial to Pakistan’s defense programs, including its ballistic missile capabilities, which it deems essential for safeguarding national sovereignty and ensuring peace in South Asia.
The Pakistani government emphasized that its strategic defense programs are of paramount importance to the security and well-being of its 240 million citizens. It further expressed concerns that these sanctions would exacerbate military imbalances in the region, undermining strategic stability. Pakistan also criticized the sanctions on private commercial entities, arguing that such actions are often based on suspicion rather than solid evidence.
This exchange underscores broader tensions over military capabilities and the balance of power in South Asia. Pakistan continues to defend its missile program as a vital component of its national security and regional peace.
