Punjab’s swimmers dominated both individual and team events, showcasing their exceptional talent.

Girls’ Swimming Highlights:

  • Rania Khan triumphed in the 200m freestyle, finishing with a time of 2 minutes 47 seconds.
  • Zehra Kazi claimed two golds, winning the 100m breaststroke in 1 minute 43 seconds and the 50m freestyle.
  • Ayesha Waqas secured gold in the 200m breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes 59 seconds.
  • Mehar Hayat clinched gold in the 200m freestyle final.

Boys’ Swimming Highlights: Punjab’s male swimmers also excelled, with Aryan Rehman, Azan Maqbool, Chaudhry Hassan Ali, Agha, and Abdul Wasay Naseer all claiming golds in various categories.

Islamabad’s Relay Brilliance

Islamabad athletes stood out in the team swimming events, grabbing gold in both the men’s and women’s 4x100m medley relays:

  • Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay: The team of Mahayha, Maham, Fayyadi, and Eman took the top spot.
  • Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay: The quartet of Abdullah, Hassan, Rashid, and Zaki claimed gold.

Close Contests Among Other Regions

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is in third place with 7 medals, including 1 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze.
  • Sindh follows with 6 medals, including 1 gold and 1 silver.
  • Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) secured 1 gold medal, while Balochistan earned 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Over 200 Athletes Compete Across 15 Sports

With over 200 athletes participating in 15 disciplines, the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games promises more exciting action as it progresses.
